American Eagle To Ad Non-Stop Jet Service Between
Syracuse Hancock International Airport and
Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport

Syracuse, New York - Today Mayor Matthew J. Driscoll announced that American
Eagle, the regional affiliate of American Airlines which currently provides service
to Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport from Syracuse, will begin non-stop jet
service to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport starting on August 1, 2005.
"I am very pleased that American Eagle has decided to introduce new non-stop jet service
to Dallas/Fort Worth from Syracuse. Both the leisure and business traveler from the
Central New York region will benefit greatly from this new service to DFW, which
will be the western-most hub served non-stop from Syracuse. My administration
has been in regular discussions with American regarding new service opportunities,
and American's announcement confirms the growing strength of the Syracuse
and Central New York air travel market, and the expanding role that Syracuse
Hancock International Airport plays in serving that market," said Mayor Driscoll today.
American Eagle announced that it would begin service to DFW on August 1, 2005
on their 70-seat CRJ-700 jets. Today’s announcement is a solid indication
of the Mayor’s continued efforts to improve air service in the community.
