US Airways Drops Fares as Much as 64 Percent in More Than 40 Markets

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
TEMPE, Ariz., September 27, 2006 — US Airways (NYSE: LCC) is lowering fares by as much as 64 percent to 43 cities from Syracuse, N.Y., as the airline continues the popular fare reductions it set in motion late last year. These new fares will allow Syracuse travelers to support their community while giving them an affordable option out of their local airport.

"Following the positive customer response to our lower-fare program in markets like Huntsville, Ala. and Greensboro, N.C., we are confident that Syracuse travelers will support these new fares," said Scott Kirby, executive vice president, sales and marketing.

"As the largest carrier at Syracuse Hancock International Airport, US Airways has long provided service to many of the markets Syracuse travelers use the most," said Syracuse Mayor Matthew J. Driscoll. "The airline's longstanding presence in the Central New York region has only reaffirmed their commitment to the area and I look forward to continued conversations which bring added opportunities to Syracuse. I hope this is just the beginning of a new chapter in the Syracuse/US Airways relationship."

"The Metropolitan Development Association is pleased to stand with US Airways as it makes Syracuse a focal point in its nationwide transition to a full service, low cost airline," said Irwin Davis, president of the MDA. "Today’s announcement means central upstate travelers will no longer have to drive to another airport for lower fares to our most important business and leisure destinations."

In addition to the drastic reduction of walk up fares, US Airways has also lowered fares to/from Syracuse in 30 leisure markets by as much as 56 percent. With these changes, US Airways has lowered its fares in more than 150 markets this year and introduced its customer-friendly pricing structure system-wide with the elimination of the Saturday night stay requirement.

Fares are available immediately and can be booked at www.usairways.com, by calling 800-428-4322 or through a travel agent.
